Jake Tapper Explains Why He Fact-Checked Bill OReilly on Twitter -

CNN anchor Jake Tapper appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Tuesday evening where he explained why Bill O’Reilly’s tweet claiming Tapper’s CNN show has “low” scores triggered him to respond via calling out the previous Fox News anchor’s sexual harassment allegations.

Tapper lately answered to O’Reilly’s criticisms of his scores on Twitter, saying, “‘Low’ would be sexually harassing staffers and then getting fired for it — humiliated in entrance of the sector. Now THAT can be low.”

“Fact take a look at: Our scores are effective,” stated Tapper to Colbert. “He simply wanted to take a shot at me as a result of I have been bringing up him as a sexual predator on air when we have been covering the Harvey Weinstein scandal and in addition pointing out that Weinstein is not the one one. O’Reilly and [Roger] Ailes had been horrific sexual predators at Fox.”

“I’m a journalist, so I really like to explain issues,” Tapper added. “I felt he was once using the word ‘low’ incorrectly.”

O’Reilly has lately been dropped by talent agency UTA after The New York Times reported over the weekend that he paid $32 million to a former Fox News analyst to settle a harassment claim she made in opposition to him. Fox News’ dad or mum company, twenty first Century Fox, knew of the settlement sooner than granting a four-year extension of his contract at $25 million a 12 months.
