He was a Minnesota high school state champion.
In the overall of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials within the 84 kg category, Chad Gable went on to defeat Jordan Holm 2 to 0.
He competed in the Greco-Roman style Eighty four kg match on the 2012 Summer Olympics and defeated Keitani Graham from the Federated States of Micronesia within the qualification round. He was once in the end eradicated from the competition within the next round as he misplaced 3–0 to Pablo Shorey of Cuba.
He signed a contract with the professional wrestling promotion WWE in November 2013 and was once assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He adopted the ring identify “Chad Gable” as a nod to Olympian Dan Gable.
On September 5, 2014, Chad Gable made his in-ring debut at an NXT area display in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and defeated Troy McClain.

Along with Shelton Benjamin, Chad Gable defeated The Hype Bros on the September 12, 2017, episode of SmackDown Live. The duo once more defeated The Hype Bros in a rematch at Hell in a Cell.
Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin defeated The New Day and Rusev and Aiden English in a triple risk match at the January 2, 2018, episode of SmackDown Live to earn some other shot at the SmackDown Tag Team titles. However, they lost the next week.
As a part of the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-Up, Chad Gable used to be moved to Raw on April 16, 2018, and thus his tag team with Benjamin used to be disbanded.
He was once drafted to SmackDown all over the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-up.
