In a 2018 interview with People Magazine, the country singer went into detail about how her marriage with Ferguson used to be “harmful.”

In February 2016, King married Ferguson after only figuring out him for a few weeks. The two ended up marrying in secret, and went on to have what King advised People Magazine was once a “destructive marriage.”

“When I like, I like very laborious,” King advised People Magazine. “We had been two young, loopy folks.”

Speaking with People Magazine, King admitted her marriage to Ferguson was once spontaneous.

“We got married three weeks to the day once we met — and you don’t know a individual after 3 weeks. I didn’t know him, and he didn’t know me. It used to be a loopy time.”

She added that while the 2 did announce their engagement after meeting, nobody knew initially that they had been married.

TMZ reported that Ferguson was once arrested for domestic violence against King in April 2017, but the criminal charge was later dropped.

King then introduced her preliminary split from Ferguson in May 2017. It was not public wisdom that King and Ferguson had been married till their plan to break up was once introduced.

“It crashed and burned, but when we got married, it was out of absolute, sheer love,” King told People Magazine in regards to the relationship. “But eloping is now out of my system.”

She added, “It’s no longer that I wouldn’t wanna get married again, I simply wouldn’t wanna go through a divorce once more — as a result of that’s pretty s*****. It could make you're feeling like a failure.”

Speaking with People Magazine in 2018, King did admit that she used to be still “a romantic” when it comes to love, even after her courting with Ferguson.

“I still, after all, imagine in love. Totally. And I believe that having that roughly trust and faith is what is going to convey goodness into your existence,” she mentioned. “I’m a romantic.”

King is recently engaged to tattoo artist Dan Tooker, and she or he gave start to a son in September 2021.
