JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Five people had been taken to hospitals for treatment after a crash on West Beaver Street that involved a sand truck, which plowed into the Bennett Ace Hardware on Friday night, consistent with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
District Chief Terri Norton stated 4 other people had to be extricated, together with the motive force of the truck. Three other people were mentioned to have serious injuries. Two patients have been pediatrics.
Norton said two members of the family that owns the Ace Hardware were amongst those transported for accidents.
The development was once believed to be a total loss.
A roof craftsman who used to be running on best of a development around the side road says he noticed the semi touring east on West Beaver Street when it collided with a car that was once turning onto Cahoon Road. He stated it seemed that both automobiles crashed into the Ace Hardware.
Tyron Irvin, mentioned he heard the crash and ran out of doors.
“I heard a loud boom. Tires squealing. You could scent the smoke coming off the tires,” Irvin mentioned.

Witnesses say firefighters needed to rescue one person who was under the semi.
“I’m devastated,” mentioned Richard Dooley, who lives in the area. “I store there always. I have breakfast with one of the crucial homeowners each Saturday.”
West Beaver Street was once closed in both instructions at Cahoon because of the crash. At about 6:30 p.m., firefighters started leaving the scene.
